This is a full-time, exempt position.

Job Purpose:

The Senior Category Marketing Manager NA Sweet Snacks & Confectionery works to leverage market and consumer-informed opportunities to drive future-forward growth strategies and integrated customer solutions for profitable business growth in the NA Sweet Snacks & Confectionery market segments and is responsible for driving and creating demand, fueling the customer project pipeline, and accelerating sales by building and ensuring the execution of effective category and customer marketing strategies and plans.

This category marketing leader is accountable for developing marketing strategies in collaboration with Sales and internal Product and Technical teams aiming to fuel and support ADM’s growth via customer engagement programs and innovation.

Main responsibilities are:

  • Track, analyze and synthesize relevant and meaningful market, category, consumer and innovation insights and link them to ADM advantaged ingredient solutions and enabling technologies to drive short- and long-term results, in partnership with commercial, technical and extended marketing teams.

  • Act as the voice of the market, the customers and their consumers for the category of NA Sweet Snacks & Confectionery and develop a deep and complete understanding of external dynamics and trends impacting market opportunities, value proposition and integrated solutions.

  • Act as a thought leader and market segment expert by developing deep knowledge of product technical features and benefits, as well as portfolio opportunities and the ability to recommend new strategies to grow revenues overtime.

  • Partner and work in collaboration with global and regional business team members, as well as product teams, to drive strategy and growth.

  • Create meaningful and differentiated value propositions to drive stakeholder engagement and value.

  • Develop and accelerate customer demand creation initiatives in support of ADMs portfolio and solutions for NA Sweet Snacks & Confectionery and their value propositions in the B2B marketplace.

  • Support insight-driven innovation and portfolio growth strategies, crafting and implementing “go-to-market” strategies and action plans.

  • Promote and build insightful value creation for the company and for our customers by driving and supporting portfolio strategies – from insights to innovation and commercialization

  • Institute strong collaborative relationships with Global Marketing, Consumer Insights, CD&D Technical Teams, Sales and Product Marketing to identify and respond to customer needs, to effectively conceptualize and execute new product development (NPD) initiatives, support trade shows and conferences, as well as other customer engagement opportunities, and market-facing Trade PR and marketing campaign efforts

  • Partner with Commercial teams in the development of key customer demand creation and growth strategies, as well as developing targeted presentations and sales enablement tools

  • Represent and elevate ADM’s vision and mission to unlock nature and enrich lives with industry advancing innovations, a complete portfolio of ingredients that gives customers an edge in solving the nutritional challenges of today and tomorrow.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in the food & beverage industry in B2B solutions business.

  • Knowledge of Sweet Snacks & Confectionery is a plus.

  • Proven success in B2B marketing, working in matrixed environments, with a strong track record of developing innovation, programs and promotions to drive growth in the food, beverage and ingredient industry. The ideal candidate may have B2C experience as well

  • Strong oral, written, verbal and formal presentation skills are required.

  • Demonstrated success in leading marketing and innovation programs cross-functionally with a high affinity for managing multidisciplinary approaches

  • Experience articulating insights into customer innovation opportunities within the food, beverage and ingredients industry.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and strong ability to build an environment of exchange and collaboration.

  • Aptitude and experience tracking, analyzing and synthesizing relevant consumer, market, category and technical insights to drive strategies and incremental growth for ADM.

  • Demonstrated hands-on analytical and strategic problem solving skills with a focus on tactical, practical execution and on driving results collaboratively.

  • Handles changing priorities, a fast-paced environment and tight deadlines with ease and maturity.

  • Demonstrate ability to interact, partner with and influence stakeholders at all levels, providing well-grounded direction, recommendations and delivering on marketing executional excellence.

  • Professional demeanor with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong influencing skills with a highly collaborative mindset to drive shared results.

Educational Requirements:

  • University Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related food/nutrition science with a strong affinity to B2B/B2C marketing

  • MBA preferred
