This is an exempt level position.

Job Summary:

The Regional Maintenance Engineer – Hazard Monitoring is responsible for Hazard Monitoring Systems (HAZMON) and Critical Safety Devices (CSD’s) in all facets of operation. These systems are essential in preventing malfunctioning equipment from causing a fire or explosion which could lead to catastrophic property damage and death. Responsible for being a lead in new and replacement projects, tracking and understanding costs, troubleshooting equipment, reviewing and auditing facilities and training employees. This position will require extensive travel.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversight of Hazard Monitoring projects. Will require purchasing of materials and supplies, facility scheduling, equipment installation, budget tracking, employee training, and commissioning of equipment

  • Equipment specification, design, selection, installation and validation

  • Troubleshoot and repair hazard monitoring equipment

  • Training and mentoring other colleagues on Hazard Monitoring equipment

  • Managing contractors for staffing levels, costs, productivity, safety

  • Review facilities to ensure compliance with Tier II Guidance and Hazard Monitoring requirements

  • Assist in Incident Investigations

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Strong dedication to safety, quality and environmental compliance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Critical thinking and problem solving

  • Hands on involvement

  • Strong initiative and work ethic

  • Ability to look beyond the task at hand, to anticipate challenges and develop options to overcome them

  • Ability to work as a team member and independently

  • Must have Valid Driver’s License

  • Must be able to obtain a Passport

  • Must be willing to travel

Education & Experience:

  • 3-5 years minimum of plant/grain elevator experience

  • Electrical/Maintenance experience is desired

  • Previous Hazard Monitoring experience is helpful

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of working in extreme temperatures

  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces

  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs

  • Some processes within the facility are highly reliant on machinery and other processing equipment and, as a result, noise levels may reach or exceed 85 decibels and require use of hearing protection for most of the work shift.

  • Able to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
