Job Summary

ADM markets millions of tons of feedstuff that are co-products of grain processing including corn gluten feed, DDGS, wheat midds, germ meal, corn gluten meal, steepwater, and wet feeds among others. This position is responsible for enabling the co-products commercial team to grow the customer pipeline, understand their products’ intrinsic value, and evaluate the feedstuff competitive landscape. The applicant should have high level working knowledge of building animal feed rations with emphasis on ruminant applications. The applicant must have a flexible communication style that lends itself to external interactions with buyers, nutritionists, and traders - as well as internal interactions with commercial groups, senior leaders, adjacent businesses, and economists. This is a terrific opportunity for an individual educated as an animal nutritionist that wants to act as a generalist in a large multi-national corporation. This position reports to the Co-Products General Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Run routine and ad hoc reports that illustrate competitiveness of our products in animal feed rations of key regions and applications.

  • Analyze competitive landscape considering new market entrants and changing competitor volumes

  • Participate in customer interactions to convey our value proposition and highlight our products’ attributes to create demand

  • Collaborate with ADM economists and other ADM nutritionists to build long-term supply/demand projections in key regions and applications

  • Provide technical and marketing support for novel product formulations and atypical co-products

Job Requirements

  • Must have advanced degree in animal science with knowledge of animal nutrition or 10+ years applied knowledge formulating animal feed rations

  • Ability to utilize and expand animal nutrition knowledge across multiple species including ruminant, pork, poultry, and aquaculture is required

  • Technical sales experience would be a plus.

  • Must have experience using ration formulation software such as NDS, AMTS, NRC, etc.

  • Must be flexible communicator with strong verbal and written skills

  • Must have intellectual curiosity to understand end user applications in order to uncover our products’ functional value as well as its nutritional value

  • Must be agile learner - Will be a big plus if employee can understand marketing, logistics, and asset strategy that underpin the business.

  • Must be adept with software including utilizing Excel, PowerPoint, and instant messenger

  • Job requires 10-20% travel for customer and plant visits
