Job Summary:

The QFS Distribution Manager is a leadership position within the NA Flavors Supply Chain team. This critical role will have ownership of the quality and food safety programs, controls, and processes within the NA Flavors warehousing network to ensure quality principles are integrated into our receiving, shipping, inventory, storage & internal/external logistics processes meet or exceed expectations. Supporting Erlanger production sites while driving key compliance & safety initiatives related to warehousing operations. This colleague will report to the Director of Logistics and Purchasing and along with functional alignment to the Divisional Quality and Food Safety Leadership team.

The position will include the oversight to ensure the strict adherence of food safety protocols when transporting ingredients across our network of plants & warehouses. Working cross functionally to support broader supply chain team and across the broader value chain to enhance execution excellence this role requires the ability to work independently, exhibit sound judgment, and have a strong customer centric mindset while ensuring the quality and food safety of product and materials handled. This role will seek synergies across NA Flavors that supports, enhances & reinforces our food safety culture for our network of warehouses including 3PL’s.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Manage staff (ADM and contractor) personnel at warehouse locations to perform QFS activities.

  • Ensure GFSI certifications are achieved for all locations.

  • Ensure all food safety plan, risk assessments, and pre-requisite programs are accurate, well defined, and followed for each warehouse location to meet FDA regulations, requirements, and practices.

  • Be aware of key customer requirements to ensure compliance.

  • Ensure all inbound process are developed and followed to efficient sampling and inspections to enable quick put-away and most efficient dock-to-stock timing.

  • Perform PCQI verification activities, if any are ever determined within scope of distribution.

  • Point-of-contact for daily and escalated issues related to quality and food safety.

  • Develop and ensure employees are trained on specific job functions and activities focused food safety awareness and processes prescriptive to colleague role.

  • Perform routine GMP audits and manage corrective actions. Participate with annual site management reviews.

  • Perform monthly management audit and walk-through and report up to site QFS Manager.

  • Ensure proper pest control program is managed. Coordinate with Site Sanitation Manager as needed.

  • Ensure all inbound, storage, and outbound processes are developed and followed to ensure expected QFS deliverables are met at both ADM owned and 3rd party warehouse facilities.

  • Assist supply chain planners and schedulers with QC/QA issues to ensure on-time shipments and transfers.

  • Key participant in corporate internal, customer, regulatory, and certification audits.

  • Lead investigations for QC/QA related customer complaints or other non-conformances from QA deficiencies.

  • Provide & support clear EHS leadership across network of warehouses & E2E supply chain processes.

  • Define, document, and communicate performance metrics as aligned with Erlanger quality and food safety goals.

  • Support transportation/logistics teams to ensure food safety programs are adopted & driven throughout our transportation network.

  • Set annual team goals and employee development plans as aligned with COE goals.

Requirements:

  • Education: Four year university degree in supply chain, operations management, or business administration, supplemented with a minimum of 5 years experience in supply chain, warehouse management and minimum of three years with quality assurance experience in a production/warehouse environment.

  • Five (5) years with people and/or department management experience

  • PCQI Qualified, HACCP trained.

  • Ability to understand technical properties of functional ingredients.

  • Working knowledge of FDA/US food safety regulations, requirements, and practices

  • Ability to routinely travel between local warehouses to perform routine and unexpected tasks

  • Ability to prioritize work independently, with minimal supervision to plan, organize and execute effectively

  • Strong communication skills including communication and technical writing and verbal communications

  • Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast-paced work environment.

  • Willing to work outside normal business hours including nights and weekends as required.

  • Proficient in computer processes and Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and Outlook
