Job Summary:

Flavors NA Inventory Manager is a key leadership position within the Flavors NA Supply Chain team. This crucial role will have direct oversight of our inventory management practices and processes. This person will collaborate with the broader Supply Chain, Operations & Procurement teams to optimize inventory levels and ensure the visibility of inventory levels are shared across the end-to-end. Another important aspect for this position is to ensure our inventory management practices align with supply chain & finance objectives. This position will define at risk inventory via inventory analysis and will support each of the Flavor sites to action at risk materials (excess, slow moving, etc). This person will also work directly with operation teams to share and review KPI’s that measure our inventory protocols.

Another critical aspect for this role is to seek out synergies across Flavors NA that supports, enhances and reinforces our food safety principles are embedded in our inventory practices, protocols & processes.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Implement strategies to optimize inventory levels of raw materials, semi-finished goods & finished goods.

  • Ensure the integrity of our inventory accuracy through oversight of our cycle count process and inventory controls.

  • Support the team through shared metrics to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.

  • Facilitate the gathering of inventory data across the Flavors NA network.

  • Collaborate & support each sites processes actioning at risk inventory (excess, slowing moving & obsolete).

  • Provide recommendation on inventory flow to improve material movement & material replenishment into plants, between sites & across 3PL network.

  • Perform inventory analysis that supports Procurement & Planning when dealing with large demand shifts.

  • Ownership of inventory workflows – rejected/disposition of materials.

  • Perform risk mitigation scenarios & analysis associated with inventory.

  • Partner with Procurement & Purchasing to provide safety stock recommendations & methodology.

  • Work with Phase-in teams on recommendations for items where a commitment to purchase (CTP) should be considered/required.

  • Review overall inventory hygiene KPI’s & process with inventory analyst.

  • Assist broader supply chain & finance team to review monthly excess & obsolete inventory.

  • Ensure safety & food safety remain a top priority & these standards are built into our inventory practices.

Requirements:

  • Education: Four year university degree in supply chain, operations management, or business administration, supplemented with a minimum of 5 years experience in supply chain, warehouse management and minimum of three years within a production/warehouse environment.

  • Technology: SAP experience preferred. Practical experience with WMS required.

  • Key skills/competencies – pragmatic thinking, information seeking, strategic business planning, cross functional leadership, effective communicator & multi-faceted problem solving.

  • Ability to routinely travel between local warehouses to perform routine and unexpected tasks

  • Ability to prioritize work independently, with minimal supervision to plan, organize and execute effectively

  • Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast-paced work environment.

  • Willing to work outside normal business hours including nights and weekends as required.

  • Proficient in computer processes and Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and Outlook
