Quality Control Manager - Erlanger, KY

This is a full-time, exempt position.

Job Summary:

This position will provide oversight and leadership for all laboratory functions occurring in the Erlanger campus. This role will be involved with multiple departments including Operations, CD&D, inventory, and Continuous improvement. This position will continue to drive improvement at the Erlanger campus and facilitate lab personnel growth with regards to analytical, sensory, and microbiological techniques. This position will have customer interactions and determine corrective actions and preventative actions in laboratory failures. This position will report to the local Quality and Food Safety manager in Erlanger.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Plan, coordinate, and direct Erlanger lab team to achieve task completion in an appropriate timeframe

  • Assist in the acquisition, implementation and documentation of new instrumentation and methodology

  • Lead educate and grow quality team members and programs

  • This role will be responsible for people development, goal setting, and goal tracking of Erlanger Lab team

  • Ensure alignment of all finished product testing with Product Release Specifications and the Quality Management System

  • Manage Performance testing with an outside party to ensure Micro and Analytical teams comply to global ADM standards

  • Assist, as needed, to identify/rectify recurring issues with meeting specifications

  • Provide lab safety evaluations and improvements

  • Push lab technicians to maintain data integrity and efficiency

  • Ensure proper sensory training program is in place for quality team members

  • Assist in customer and 3rd party audits

  • Manage shift coverage to efficiently cover all testing needs

  • Participate in Cross-functional teams to assure quality requirements are met

  • Represent the quality labs in a professional manner to external and internal parties

  • Bring new ideas and improvements to quality protocols and procedures

Requirements :

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biology, or related laboratory-based field

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in a food regulated industry

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related technical area

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as negotiation, influencing, and collaboration skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally with internal and external customers

  • Willingness to innovate and adapt best practices

  • Ability to encourage trust between operations, Development, and Quality departments
