This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:

As a member of the Enterprise Architecture team, the Salesforce Enterprise Platform Owner is responsible for defining the strategy and roadmaps for Salesforce. This role provides subject matter expertise to the business and the Global Technology Team about solutions and products that belong to the Salesforce platform.

Being the face to the platform vendor, the Salesforce Enterprise Platform Owner has a clear understanding of the vendor’s platform, strategy, their roadmaps, releases, upgrades and, while working with other Global Technology teams, brings that knowledge into ADM in order to help define the company’s strategy and platform’s capability roadmaps.

In addition, the Salesforce Platform Owner performs a governance function over the platform, providing architectural guiding principles and standards, making sure those are being followed by the different initiatives. While working with Procurement, the Salesforce Platform Owner will ensure ADM stays in compliance with licenses and subscriptions and that value is maximized.

Job Responsibilities:

By being ADM Global Technology’s face to the vendor, the Salesforce Platform Owner:

  • Understands Vendor’s Platform and Business strategy and aligns it with Global Technology strategy.

  • Understands roadmap of existing and/or new Vendor’s products.

  • Maintains knowledge of the platform trends and utilize this knowledge to educate both Global Technology and the business on opportunities to build better alignment that supports and drives business outcomes

  • Understands the product/s lifecycle and is up to date with upcoming Technology Upgrades

  • Represents ADM in Vendor (product’s) council or User Group.

  • Acquires knowledge of New Capabilities, New Enhancements/Releases and brings that knowledge back to Global Technology and business to support defining new initiatives.

Working closely with other Global Technology Teams, Partners and ADM business, the Salesforce Platform owner is the ADM’s primary contact for Salesforce platform products & capabilities related topics:

The Salesforce Platform Owner:

  • Owns and maintains the technology platform roadmap, broken down by projects, capabilities and other key initiatives.

  • Can identify business themes and trends and influence initiative prioritization

  • Leads platform roadmap reviews and assessments

  • Maintains business capability maps implemented at ADM vs. those available in the Salesforce platform.

  • Identifies and assesses performance gaps as a result of the Business capability Mapping, providing recommendations to fulfill those gaps.

  • Detects opportunities to increase business value or minimizes operational costs by leveraging the Salesforce platform capabilities.

  • Reviews requirements backlog / gaps and, as part of the design authority, provides recommendations on solutions/timelines

  • Identifies and recommends educational paths about new capabilities and organizes executive briefings for ADM.

  • Defines Salesforce specific architectural guiding principles and standards

  • Reviews ongoing projects to ensure they comply with architectural guiding principles and standards.

  • Works with Business Engagement and Business Relationship managers, to support improving the platform net promoter score (NPS).

  • Partners with Procurement to establish Salesforce license or subscription agreement/s, track usage metrics, identify rationalization / consolidation opportunities and to make sure ADM stays compliant.

  • Supports Solution Leads, Solution Architects and Global Process owners in architecting future state solutions.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Business)

  • 5+ years’ experience as Solution Lead / Solution Architect, in Salesforce implementations in large multi-national companies.

  • Experience with SAP S/4 either as an implementation analyst or super user is a plus.

  • U.S. Citizenship Required

  • Must have the ability to make decisions and recommendations on technology strategies to the internal Global Technology team and the platform provider

  • Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.

  • Excellent team player able to work with virtual and global cross functional teams.

  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills

  • End to end business process knowledge (i.e. prospect to cash, pricing models and marketing)

  • Experience in Food Industry - Agriculture business and/or Nutrition Industry will be a plus.

  • Experience as a member of an Enterprise Architecture team, understanding an EA framework (such as TOGAF) will be a plus.

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills combined with ability to work with all levels of the business and Global Technology

  • Ability to influence, and build consensus at all levels of the company including senior leadership at the corporate and division level

  • Ability to translate idea’s into actionable requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs
